My Credentials
I am a clinical psychologist with a private practice on the west-island of Montreal.
I have expertise in assessing, preventing, and treating a range of emotional, behavioural and relationship problems. Besides being accredited with the Order of Psychologists of Québec (OPQ), I am also accredited with the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (CRHSPP), a national credentialing body of psychologists. As part of this Register, I have met additional training and experience requirements in psychological health care (beyond the criteria required by provincial licensure). I am also a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration.
I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from McGill University. I did my graduate work in Clinical Psychology at Concordia University, obtaining my Masters in 1996 and my Ph.D. in 2001. My Ph.D. research on personality development reflects my conviction that personal change is possible, if desired, throughout the lifespan. My clinical training at the Applied Psychology Centre at Concordia University, the Douglas Hospital, and the Department of Psychology at the Royal Victoria Hospital was diverse and extensive and exposed me to many different therapeutic approaches and routes to change.
Since the completion of my formal training, I keep up to date with relevant advances in treatment approaches through self-study and participation in workshops and seminars. I have taught college and university courses on lifespan development, abnormal psychology, social psychology, and health psychology, have led groups for depression, panic and agoraphobia, and social anxiety, and have worked for the McGill University Mental Health Service.
